Upgrade from Rift S?

Looking to upgrade from my Rift S for obvious reasons. Mostly playing PCVR, so something with a DP cable for performance. Main game is Dirt Rally 2.0. I’ve heard Pico Neo3 Link is a good choice, any input? Would love to hear some thoughts on what’s worth upgrading to!

PSVR2 with PC adaptor or Pimax Crystal Light would probably be better choices at the moment. Just bear in mind that Sony doesn’t sell replacement controllers or cables, and Pimax recently changed their pricing model to include a weird fake payment plan subscription thing. If you have a high budget, there are a few choices among upcoming headsets.

I hadn’t heard about the Pimax price changes. Sounds kinda sketchy… Do you think it’s worth waiting for the new headsets?

Yeah, it’s definitely a bit strange. If you’re okay with the potential issues, it could be a good choice, but if you’re on the fence, maybe wait a bit. The next-gen headsets might be a better bet.

I think if you’re looking for something solid and ready to go, the Q3 isn’t a bad option. Sure, it lacks DisplayPort, but for the price and performance tradeoff, it’s a decent pick. Wouldn’t call it top-tier, but it’s solid.

True, the Q3 is cheaper. I might just go with that and deal with the tradeoffs. Thanks for the input!

I’d suggest looking into the Pico Neo3 Link too. It’s a pretty good option for PCVR without being overly expensive. However, just make sure it’s compatible with the games you play!

Yeah, I heard the Pico Neo3 Link is solid. Just hoping it’ll work well with Dirt Rally 2.0. Any thoughts on its performance with racing sims?

It should do fine with racing sims, but make sure your PC has enough juice for smooth performance. I’ve heard some users say it’s great for racing games, though!

I personally wouldn’t go with the Pico Neo3 unless you’re tight on budget. The PSVR2 with a PC adaptor could be a better experience overall if you can swing the cost. Definitely worth considering.

Yeah, but the PSVR2 is pretty expensive, huh? I feel like the value might not be there unless you’re really into Sony’s ecosystem.

True, it is pricey, but for the experience, I think it’s a good deal if you can afford it. Otherwise, the Pico Neo3 will do just fine for most users.

If you’re on a tight budget, maybe just go for a cheaper model like the Quest 3. It’s not as fancy as others but has solid PCVR performance. Plus, it’s a great all-around headset.

I’ve been thinking about the Quest 3 too! It’s definitely tempting, but IDK if it’s enough of an upgrade from my Rift S.

It’s not a huge jump, but if you want to get something that just works without any crazy setup, the Quest 3’s a good option. But if you’re really looking to level up, maybe look at the other options.
