Hey everyone! Just wanted to share the latest results from Steam’s Hardware Poll for VR in October 2024. Surprisingly, the Quest line makes up more than 50% of users, showing a huge market share. It seems like the numbers for the Quest 3 aren’t compensating for the decline in Quest 2 users, which has been slowly dropping since January. What do you all think about these trends?
The Quest line really dominates, huh? That’s quite a market share.
Yeah, but it’s been dropping a bit since January. I wonder if the Quest 3S will change that soon.
I think it’s because the Quest 3 is so good that people are moving away from PCVR and just playing standalone, myself included.
Same here! I have a Quest 3, but PCVR can be hit or miss. I got a dedicated router for SteamLink, but sometimes it just doesn’t work.
I feel you. My Quest 2 drops connection a lot too, even when hardwired. I unpacked my CV1 again because of it.
It’s frustrating when tech doesn’t work as it should. But hey, at least you still have your CV1!
Christmas sales might change the landscape a bit. Interested to see how that affects the numbers!
We’re about to get the November survey soon, so it’ll be interesting to compare.
I’m surprised to see so many users sticking with older headsets. I wonder why that is?
Could be due to cheaper options out there. Plus, new games like Metro might be keeping people interested.
