No one talks about Snap Spectacles?

Hello everyone, I haven’t seen many posts about Snap Spectacles in this category. Does anyone own these glasses and develop with them? Is the price too expensive to take the step and buy them?

They are amazing, color is bright, and they work excellent. I’m leaning toward a phone-controlled system right now, working on some mini games. They are very, very cool, and worth getting if you’re interested in developing for the AR space.

I haven’t tried them myself, but they seem very promising. Head over to r/Spectacles.

Hey there! I’m Jesse McCulloch, the Snap Spectacles Community Manager. Happy to answer any questions you may have, although the rest of the answers to your post kind of beat me to it. Glad to see you all are so happy with our device!

It’s primarily targeted at developers right now. So while it’s publicly available, you do have to apply for them and describe how you want to use them to get a pair. If you’re interested, you can apply for one here: https://www.spectacles.com/. And as MammothAcrobatic said, you can follow the action at the Specs subreddit.

I have yet to try them, but I really love the way Snap has been focusing on getting them into the hands of devs first.

I just got approved for the developer program but I cannot receive my spectacles because I’ve been evacuated from my house due to the LA fires. Hopefully soon though, can’t wait to develop these in the context of cooking in the kitchen.

Check out Joost’s blog; he got on the development programme and has been blogging amazing things: https://localjoost.github.io/
