New Pico 4 User

Hi guys,

I recently got the Pico 4, and this is my first experience with VR. While it has been amazing, I’m feeling a bit underwhelmed. Is it normal to see pixels? It looks like I’m sitting close to a 1080p screen. I’ve also noticed that YouTube is limited to 2160p, and the 360 videos look terrible. I have premium YouTube—am I missing something, or did I set my expectations too high? Thanks!

Yes, sadly, it’s common at our level. Maybe it’s different for the Pimax users with high-end setups, but for us, it’s nowhere near flat screen quality.

Have you adjusted the IPD settings? Sometimes that can help with clarity.

The Pico 4 is a great headset, but it does have limitations compared to high-end PC VR. The pixelation can be more noticeable, especially with certain applications.

Make sure you’re using the right settings in the YouTube app. Sometimes the default settings don’t automatically select the highest resolution.

Don’t be too discouraged! It might take some time to adjust to the VR experience. As tech improves, so will the quality of VR visuals.
