Need advice on controllers for Quest 3

Greetings all. I don’t normally post at all but figured why not. I currently have a Quest 3, and the default controller’s stick drift is diabolical. Here’s my question: do I buy the Valve Index controllers for my Quest 3? (Yes, I have 2 lighthouses already for my trackers) or do I buy the Quest Pro controllers? I know the Quest Pro controllers will have stick drift, but I’ve seen some products that are a dust cover to hopefully prevent the stick drift (reviews did say it prevented it). Which is the better choice? For those who have the Quest Pro controllers, besides the stick drift (if you have it), is it worth upgrading or replacing? Thanks for the help y’all. Cheers.

Honestly, if you already have the lighthouses, the Valve Index controllers are a solid choice. The tracking is excellent and they feel more comfortable for longer sessions.

That sounds promising. I’ve heard good things about the comfort level. How’s the durability though?

They’re pretty durable, but like any controller, they can wear down over time. Just be careful with them.

I have the Quest Pro controllers. The stick drift is annoying, but the overall feel and features are nice. If you find a good dust cover, it might help a lot.

How’s the tracking with the Quest Pro? Is it on par with the Index controllers?

It’s decent, but I still think the Valve Index has the edge in tracking accuracy, especially for more demanding games.

I’d also recommend the Valve Index controllers if you’re looking for longevity. The Quest Pro is nice, but those covers might not completely solve the drift issue.

That’s good to know. I really want to avoid having to replace controllers frequently.

If you’re serious about VR and want the best experience, go for the Index controllers. They really excel in tracking and comfort.

Thanks for the input. Comfort is important for those longer gaming sessions.

I’d suggest trying both if you can. Sometimes the feel of a controller is really personal, and what works for one might not work for another.

Good point. I’ll keep that in mind when making my decision.
