I’m having an issue where my Meta PCVR games force open and try to play on SteamVR. The only way I can play ‘Rift’ games is if I delete SteamVR completely, whether I’m using Airlink or Virtual Desktop. Has anyone else experienced this?
SteamVR is probably your default OpenXR runtime. You could change that, but why switch to the inferior Facebook product? Check out this guide for more info: How to Set Your Default OpenXR Runtime - Vrex
Why write so much if you have no idea what OpenXR is? Steam will still communicate with Meta firmware for OpenXR. Unless you need a SteamVR feature, you’re using a wrapper unnecessarily.
SteamVR has faster menus and a better desktop view. It’s actively being developed, while Meta Quest Link feels outdated. You get more features from SteamVR.
SteamVR is actively worked on, which can cause issues, while WMR’s OpenXR driver is stable. OpenXR is designed for headset manufacturers to provide the best interfaces.
