I feel like this game would translate very well in VR, I wish the flatscreen guys or the dev would look into it. Being able to grapple and pull yourself on buildings like in Batman same with opening a parachute. I feel like this would be awesome in VR. Or someone makes something with that gameplay and mechanics. The replayability alone would be awesome. Anyone want to work on a mod and port it to VR?
I don’t think it would. Rapid movement and stops are the fastest way to motion sickness.
Instead of asking for someone else to mod a game into VR why not start learning the skills and doing it for yourself? Claude is fantastic for teaching coding and technical skills. Using AI to help you learn it can be done faster than ever in the past.
Don’t have time, but I would definitely pay good money for a good MOD for that game. There is such a great backlog of games that would work well in VR and you’re right now with AI it should be easier. Hopefully, we start seeing more people modding flat games over to VR.
Generative AI Large Language Model. It’s a great tool for learning to code and quickly find what you are looking for for specific cases based on rough or newbie descriptions.
Just Cause is third person though. Wouldn’t be easy to port to VR. You also have to account for the grapple hook and getting into and out of vehicles.
Third person games can be great in VR.
Oh god yes, I keep telling it in every thread of the same topic: VR does not mean 1st person, move hands and body all the time. It is a big screen with big FOV and that’s it. Now bring here adventures, strategies, 3rd person, isometric, Windows Spider, whatever, a game is a game!
So was Hitman lol bad example but I have hopes the new update will be better. Contractors showdown can get in and out of cars and the new Batman and Vampire Masquerade you can zip around buildings like Spider-Man.
I totally agree. Playing Outcast New Hope in UEVR is a lot like playing Just Cause in VR.
Check out Jet Island! It pointedly isn’t anything like Just Cause graphically or story-wise. But, in terms of having grappling hooks and an incredible movement system, it’s probably the closest thing to what you want. It’s one of my all-time favorite VR games, and its movement is incredibly satisfying once you get it down. If you have really strong VR legs then you can find a collectible that unlocks ‘Extreme Spin Mode,’ allowing you to flip upside down and spin mid-air, it’s incredibly fun if you can handle it.
