Is XREAL One Pro using Sony's newest microdisplay?

I wonder if XREAL was able to achieve the higher FOV and slimmer profile due to the new Sony microdisplay. Or if not, I’m excited for the next gen AR glasses to come out with slimmer profiles and different optic configurations. Also, it seems frustrating to me that Sony can make such a dense display now (5000 ppi) and yet they still lock themselves to 1080p. Why not bump up the resolution and keep the display larger? Many of us are looking to productivity usage and 1080p just doesn’t cut it.

No. They use the 0.55" and 0.68" Sony MicroOLEDs.

Sony also has 4k displays at 1.3" that could allow a very wide FOV. But the optics would be thick and the headset would be very expensive, likely over $2k.

Quick napkin math says if they cut those sheets down to 1440p, you’d still be at .87" which is clearly too large for XREAL’s ideal form factor. Looks like we may still have a few years of 1080p ahead of us.

XREAL has the panel size on the website. It’s 0.55 - larger than the 10k nits panel. The first product with the 0.44 inch panel is probably INMO Air 3. I’ve heard another glasses product from another company using the 0.44 inch panel will be announced in April/May.
