Hey, guys! I know the Inmo Air 2 finished up on Kickstarter recently, and they were supposed to start shipping by the end of August. I’m curious if anyone here got one yet and could share a quick review. Nothing too detailed, just how you’re liking it overall.
I have tried it.
The Inmo Air 2 glasses seem like a neat idea, but they’re not quite there yet. The connection is spotty and the battery dies fast, making them frustrating to use every day. Hopefully, future versions will fix these problems. For now, they feel unfinished and customer service isn’t helpful either. It’s best to wait for improvements before taking the plunge.
Although the Inmo Air 2’s Kickstarter campaign is now over, opinions may differ due to different delivery schedules. Look for user reviews on forums or in recent updates. To determine the product’s efficacy and early users’ degree of happiness, pay particular attention to overall impressions, usability, and usefulness.
I just bought the INMO Air2 the other month and so far I can’t complain.
It is powered by a 1.8GHz ZiGuang ZhanRui AI chip, 2GB RAM, and 32GB storage. In addition, it has a micro OLED display with 640 x 400 resolution. What makes it interesting is that it also has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS. Finally, it is Light in weight (less than 100 grams) and solidly built coming with a controller ring for additional control
I’ve had my INMO Air 2 for a month now. The battery lasts about 1 and a half hours when using TikTok or screen mirroring. However, I get text notifications, but not emails. Additionally, I can only read them, but not reply. The screen mirroring feature is okay but has some issues like a slight lag and audio echo. Also, YouTube works fine, but services like Netflix and Hulu show a black screen with only audio. So far, It’s decent for mirroring some mobile games like Fortnite and Call of Duty Mobile, though there’s a slight delay of about half a second.
I just got my Kickstarter pair of INMO Air 2 glasses and I’m surprised there’s so little discussion about them. I’ve previously used the INMO Air 1 and NREAL (now XREAL) Air, and honestly, the INMO Air 2 offers the best experience on the market for what they do.
The INMO Air 2 features full-color, binocular, waveguide lens, standalone system glasses. They are the first and only ones of their kind in this market, and they actually work. Even better, INMO released their SDK, so as a developer, I can create and use any app I want for the glasses. It’s quite impressive.
When comparing them to the XREAL, a significant advantage is that the waveguide system doesn’t block your upper frontal vision like the bird bath optics system does. Additionally, not being tethered to a phone increases usability tenfold in my opinion.
However, the biggest drawback is the small screen size at 26 FOV, which likely won’t improve in the short term due to the costs, battery power, and heat associated with larger screens. This limitation makes it less suitable as a monitor replacement, which is what most smart glass owners want. Still, it’s great for watching a movie on a plane, as the YouTube app works fine with subtitles.
If you’re looking for a monitor replacement or a bigger screen size and don’t mind being tethered to a phone, consider the XREAL Air or Rokid Max.
Lastly, the biggest positive is that the INMO Air 2 is the first pair of smart glasses my wife said I could wear outside without looking odd—they look pretty normal.
