First Steps on Meta Quest 3S

Hello guys, My very lovely GF bought me a Meta Quest 3S for Christmas. I’ve never played VR before, and I’m a bit lost with all the options, including PCVR.

  1. I have a GTX 3060 and 16GB RAM PC. Should I play with or without it? The Quest 3S seems powerful on its own.
  2. Can I charge while playing? Does it affect the battery lifespan?
  3. Should I buy any extras? I plan to get a pouch for transport.
  4. Any advice from the community would be great.

Get a good headstrap with an extra battery in the back, like the Kiwi or Bobovr. You can charge while playing, but I don’t recommend it because it’s easy to pull the cable by mistake. I’d also buy Virtual Desktop for wireless PCVR games like Half-Life Alyx. Just make sure you have a decent router!

Thank you for your advice! I have a 60 Mbps router; is that enough? Is my PC powerful enough for better performance than the headset? Unplugging the cable seems like it could be a problem. I’ve heard about the K4 boost strap; I might invest in that.
