I am a freelance 3D artist who primarily works with OBJ and 3DS file formats. I recently received a project that includes a USDZ file, which I am unfamiliar with. I need to convert the USDZ file to either OBJ or 3DS format to work on it in my preferred software. I’m looking for a reliable method or software to do this conversion. TIA
I suggest this blender attachment. BlundersUSDZ at robmcrosby (Robert Crosby) · GitHub
Upload your USDZ file, select the OBJ format, and let the converter do its magic. If you prefer to have more control over the conversion process, you can use 3D modeling software such as Blender or Autodesk Maya to import the USDZ file and then export it as an OBJ file.
Liz, it’s just straightforward. Just download the Blender 3.0 beta. It supports native USDC import. Simply unzip the USDZ (rename it to.zip and uncompress) and import the USDC file directly into Blender, then export as needed.
