Bitrate Settings for 2D Gaming on Virtual Desktop?

I’m trying to figure out the best bitrate settings for 2D gaming on Virtual Desktop. Should I be maxing the bitrate bar at 120? What are the best settings for the lowest input lag? I could really use some help if anyone has the knowledge…

It really depends on your Wi-Fi network. A good setup can handle 500 bitrate h264 streaming for VR without much latency, so 120 bitrate for 2D should be fine.

What do you mean by ‘h264 streaming’? Is that important for 2D gaming?

Yeah, h264 is just a video compression standard. It’s more relevant for VR, but it shows how much bitrate your Wi-Fi can handle.

If your Wi-Fi isn’t performing well, try reducing the bitrate to see if that helps. Sometimes lower settings can actually improve performance.

What’s the lowest you would recommend then? I don’t want to lag out while gaming.

I’d say try around 80-100 if you notice issues. It’s a good range for stability.

I usually keep it around 100 for 2D. It’s worked well for me without lagging.

Have you checked your router settings? Sometimes a simple restart can help with Wi-Fi performance.

I’m not sure about all this bitrate stuff. Can someone explain why it matters for gaming?

Sure! Bitrate affects the quality and speed of your video stream. Higher bitrate means better quality but can cause lag if your network can’t handle it.
