Hey, I’m curious if there are any AR glasses out there that can overlay complex filters on reality, similar to Snapchat filters. For instance, can they make everything brighter, change colors, or add animated effects? If such technology isn’t available yet, do you think we’ll ever reach that level of sophistication? Or perhaps you know of a company working towards this?
What would you like to do with the AR glasses? I would recommend going for the new meta glasses if you’re looking for a personal and immersive 2D experience without any 3D elements.
When I explored AR glasses a few years ago, I was fascinated by their potential to overlay complex filters on reality, much like Snapchat does with its filters. At the time, options like the Microsoft HoloLens and Magic Leap offered some impressive features, but they were still limited compared to the dynamic filters available on smartphones. However, I noticed that the technology was rapidly evolving. Companies like Meta (formerly Facebook) and Apple are investing heavily in AR, aiming to bring more sophisticated effects and interactivity to AR glasses. While we’re not quite at the level of integrating advanced filters as seamlessly as on smartphones, it’s clear that the industry is working towards that kind of sophisticated, immersive experience.
