Saw the INMO smartglasses with waveguide tech—especially curious about the new INMO Air 2. Anyone here got 'em? Wondering if they’re worth it compared to other brands like Viture.
I’ve got the INMO Air, and honestly, the interface is kinda clunky. It only runs apps from its own store, so choices are limited. Also, be careful if you’re moving around—they block peripheral vision, so not great for biking or anything.
Interesting… didn’t know they limited app choices. That might be a dealbreaker for me.
Yeah, proprietary stores can be limiting. Have you tried anything else? Maybe Viture?
If you’re into watching videos, heads up: waveguides are more for display info (like notifications), not really for full-on movie watching. Birdbath optics are better for that!
Good to know! I mainly wanted them for YouTube while doing other stuff. Maybe not the best fit then?
Yeah, birdbath displays are a bit darker but work well if you’re in a stationary spot. Waveguides have lower res too, so it might not look as clear.
I heard they’re releasing two new models soon. Supposedly, one has dual displays, maybe even color. Could be a game-changer if they fix some of the current issues.
Yeah, I saw something about a new release in November. Wonder if it’ll be worth the wait for those improvements.
Hope they improve the app situation too. More options would make it way more appealing.
IMHO, waveguides still have a way to go in terms of resolution. The ones I tried didn’t feel super clear, especially for long videos.
Guess I’ll wait a bit before jumping in then. Thanks for the insight!
Same here, waiting for that next-gen upgrade. Fingers crossed!
Honestly, I’d hold off if you’re looking for something practical. Limited peripheral vision, proprietary apps, and so-so resolution all feel a bit underwhelming for the price.
Thanks for the honesty. I think I’ll keep looking around!
