What is the diference between ordinary glass and AR Glasses?

Hey Comrades,

I’m interested in getting augmented reality (AR) glasses and I’m researching different options available on the market. Can anyone provide insights or comparisons between various AR glasses models? What are the pros and cons of popular brands like Microsoft HoloLens, Magic Leap, and others? How do they perform in terms of display quality, comfort, battery life, and overall user experience? Any personal experiences or recommendations would be greatly appreciated before I make a decision.

Thanks a lot for your help…

Ordinary glass is used for fundamental reasons such as vision correction or protection and lacks digital or interactive capabilities. AR glasses, on the other hand, use technology to overlay digital information onto the actual world, allowing them to display data, photos and animations.

In my experience, regular uncoated lenses only let about 90-91% of light pass through them. The remaining light is lost due to surface reflections. I have personally found that lenses with an AR coating allow an impressive 99.8% of light to pass through, resulting in a noticeably clearer and sharper vision.

Recently, I’ve been exploring augmented reality (AR) glasses and researching different options on the market. In comparing popular models, I’ve found that Microsoft HoloLens offers excellent display quality and a robust mixed reality experience but can be heavy and pricey. Magic Leap provides a more immersive AR experience with a lighter design, though its field of view is somewhat limited. Battery life varies, with both brands typically lasting a few hours. Comfort and user experience depend on individual preferences and specific use cases. If anyone has personal experiences or additional insights, I’d greatly appreciate hearing them before making my decision.
