What do you think we’ll call AR glasses down the line

So I’ve been thinking about these AR/MR/Smart/AI glasses that will probably be everywhere in the next decade. With the design being like regular sunglasses and packed with all this cool AR tech, what do you think everyone will end up calling them? I mean, right now we say ‘AR glasses’ or ‘smart glasses,’ but will we stick with that? Just curious about what the consensus might be once they’re mainstream.

I feel like it will definitely lean towards ‘smart’ in the name, kinda like how we say smartphone or smartwatch. But I guess we still need to differentiate between AR, MR, and smart tech, right?

Yeah, totally agree. It’s gonna be a mix of terms until one just sticks. Maybe something like ‘smart AR glasses’ could work.

What does MR even mean? I’ve seen it around but not sure what it really is.

MR stands for Mixed Reality. It’s like combining the real world with digital elements. Pretty cool stuff.

I bet people will just end up calling them AR glasses. We still call VR headsets VR headsets, right? So it makes sense.

True, but it might be confusing since AR and MR are different. Maybe we’ll just end up with a generic name like ‘smart glasses’?

Exactly! I think ‘smart glasses’ could cover all bases, but we’ll see how it shakes out.

Smart glasses seems to be the go-to term for now. Easier to say and fits the vibe of what they’re doing.

Yeah, but what if they add more features in the future? Like, would they still just be ‘smart glasses’?

Good point. I guess they might need to update the name as new tech comes along. We could be in for a name evolution.

Honestly, I think it’ll just be a matter of time before we have one name that everyone uses. Something simple and catchy.

Agreed, but I just hope it doesn’t get too complicated with all the different types of glasses out there.

Right? I mean, if we start adding more tech, it could get confusing for casual users. Just want something easy to remember.
