Scan your old comics and let Comic Quest digitize them for AR

Hey guys, I’m excited to share that we’re developing Comic Quest for Meta Quest. You can scan your old comics, and we’ll digitize them with depth planes for Augmented Reality! We’re also planning to publish new comics in the app. Join our waitlist at comic-quest.com for updates.

We’re here; this post is getting upvoted like crazy! But true comic fans want to see double-page spreads, not just panel by panel. I’ve tried reading comics on the Quest, and the resolution just isn’t there.

That’s great feedback! We’re focusing on depth effects, but I understand the desire for full spreads.

Interesting feedback! Do you think panel by panel is impractical for comics? Is it essential to see two pages at once?

I’m a purist when it comes to comics. While I understand the tech limitations, I think two pages should be the goal for a complete experience.

As a tech early adopter but a comic purist, I feel tension here. Scott McCloud says that comics require panels juxtaposed side by side. Guided view is great for low-res devices, but bubble zoom is where it’s at for me.

Thanks for the insights! We’ll consider implementing different viewing modes.

Do you have any favorite panels that you revisit? Also, any thoughts on the upcoming Quest 4?

I prefer favorite pages or spreads. As for Quest 4, I’m not too hyped about the resolution based on the leaks.
