Hey everyone, I own a bunch of VR headsets including the HTC Vive, HP Reverb, Quest 2, Quest 3, and now the PSVR2. I’ve never had issues with motion sickness until I started using the PSVR2. When I move my head, everything gets distorted and warped—it’s hard to describe. It’s not terrible, but it’s enough to make me feel sick, which has never happened with my other systems. I’ve calibrated multiple times, used bright lighting, and ensured good tracking, but it seems to be an issue with the lenses or display. Any ideas on what could be causing this?
A lot of PSVR2 games use reprojection to maintain high frame rates, which can definitely make you feel sick. I had the same issue with some games.
It could be a tracking issue in your room. Also, high persistence on OLED screens can lead to motion sickness. Maybe try reducing the brightness?
The PSVR2 sacrifices some industry standards for higher brightness, which can lead to more motion sickness. You might want to keep the brightness lower.
I’ve heard reducing the brightness can help a lot with motion sickness on the PSVR2. It’s a known issue.
Many top games on PSVR2 use reprojection, which can cause that jittery effect. Have you tried different games to see if the issue persists?
Yeah, it’s mostly in Horizon VR. I noticed it less in GORN, but it’s still not as smooth as on my other systems.
