Hi everyone. I am new to VR and would like to know which are the challenges you face in VR.
Is there enough variety of games? Is it worth buying a headset?
What is sth you would like that does not exist yet?

VR is fantastic. Honestly, no one should hesitate to dive into it.
Check out the Q3 game library for its variety and see what you think. Whether it’s worth it depends on your budget. For me, spending around $500 on the Q3 and another $500 on games has been worth it, given the hundreds of hours of fun I’ve had.
I’d say it’s worth it if you’re passionate about new technology and gaming. The immersion factor is something you can’t get from traditional screens, and it can be a lot of fun. Just make sure you’re prepared for the initial investment and ongoing costs for games and accessories.
What’s something you wish existed in VR that doesn’t yet?
I’d love to see more detailed and expansive games, like full-length RPGs with deep narratives. Enhanced hardware for even more realistic experiences would be amazing, too.
I have spent way too much money on VR myself, been in it since the Gear VR in 2016 and just keep buying more. I love it and it has been worth it.
What are the challenges you face in VR?
Most VR games and experiences tend to be quite short, often lasting just minutes to a couple of hours. Many feel more like tech demos showcasing unique VR features rather than offering substantial content. However, there are standout titles like Half-Life: Alyx that dive deep into detailed storytelling. While Half-Life: Alyx is engaging, it can feel a bit limited in content, though Workshop-created environments do help extend the experience.
I’m hoping for more games similar to Asgard’s Wrath 2 for the Quest. That game offers an amazing story, rich RPG mechanics, a variety of play styles, and plenty of content to grind for, making it a compelling experience that keeps players coming back. More games with this level of depth and replayability would be fantastic.
