Is there high demand for VR versions of old games?

I personally think it would be awesome for both VR and gamers if we saw a bunch of older titles like FEAR, TimeSplitters, Black, Chronicles of Riddick, and Metroid Prime get VR makeovers. Some of these are probably pipe dreams, but seriously, these could give VR a ton of killer apps that are more accessible. I know you can mod some of these games, but the key word here is accessible. Right now, VR seems to be at its peak for those who are already into computers or working in IT. For discussion, what older games do you think could be faithfully ported to the Quest 3? I think TimeSplitters 2 or 3 would be incredible.

How old are we talking about? I’d love a mixed reality version of Battle Chess. Or maybe a MR version of Lemmings, although we kind of have something like that with Humanity. A MR version of The Incredible Machine or even Carmen Sandiego would be sweet too. W.O.R.M.S. could work in mixed reality as well.

Starflight sounds interesting. I checked it out and now I want to play it in VR.

I’d love to see some classic FPS titles in VR, like the Dead Space trilogy or BioShock. Those would be intense and fun. What do you all think?

What about remakes of games like Left 4 Dead or Portal? Those could be really fun in VR.

I see a lot of potential for VR in older titles. Games like XCOM or Neverwinter Nights could work great in a tabletop format, moving pieces around in VR.

I think there’s definitely a market for VR ports of old games. People are nostalgic and would love to see these classics revamped.
