HTC Vive or Oculus quest 2?

So I am shopping for a VR headset and wanted to know which one would be best.

I found some used VR headsets for sale. For $250, I could acquire either an HTC Vive (2 controllers, 2 base stations, and a premium head strap) or an Oculus Quest 2 (64GB). There is also the option to increase the budget and get an HTC Vive Pro for 290.- (1 base station, no controllers) or an HP Reverb G2 for between 350.- and 450.- (only the regular package).

I want to use the headset for sim racing; what do you recommend?
Thank you in advance

Based on my research, the Oculus Quest 2 is the better choice between the HTC Vive and the Oculus Quest 2 for most people looking to get into VR gaming in 2023. The Quest 2 offers excellent value at $299-399. At the same time, the HTC Vive Pro 2 is significantly more expensive at $799 for just the headset, plus an additional $199 for the required base stations and controllers, totalling nearly $1000. While the Vive Pro 2 has a higher resolution display and is compatible with PC VR games, the Quest 2 provides a great standalone wireless experience with good performance, 3D audio, and intuitive touch controllers. It’s also much lighter at 503g compared to the HTC Vive’s 555g. The Quest 2’s portability, ease of use, and affordability make it the ideal entry point for VR gaming. Unless you have a powerful gaming PC and are willing to spend nearly $1000, the Oculus Quest 2 is the clear winner regarding overall value and experience.

I highly recommend waiting for the Pico 4 if you’re into sim racing. I believe it will be significantly improved because of the overall weight.

The price might be on the higher side.

I prefer the Vive Pro deal out of the options you mentioned. In my opinion, the Reverb g2 is a popular choice, although it does come with a higher price tag.

In terms of immersive technology, the HTC Vive Pro 2 is still far superior to the Oculus Quest 2, even if it is less expensive.

I would neither recommend nor prefer either, I think they are too outdated for my liking. I mean there almost 10 years behind in terms of the current conversations around VRs
