HP Reverb a Paperweight Now?

I’ve already gotten my hands on a Pimax that I’ve been using… but I have an old Reverb G1 and a G2 sitting here… are these things just destined for the landfill now that WMR is gone? Is there anything to do with these things? Or are they just paperweights at this point?

You can downgrade your Windows to Win10 to use them.

Pretty much paperweights once you upgrade to Windows 11 24H2. I guess you could try and sell them.

The tether cables and controllers might have value to someone who is holding on to their Windows 10 PC that still supports WMR. But yeah… they’re practically landfill. Sell it for parts now while you can still get a few bucks.

I guess that’s a good point. Maybe I’ll throw them up online and see if anyone grabs them. Anyone in the Boston area interested for cheap, let me know. I’d hate to just chuck them.

I was thinking of upgrading to a Pimax Crystal Light, but G2s still a pretty nice headset. I’m going to run a dual boot Win 10/11 for VR and use that money to upgrade my GPU instead. I’ll worry about a new headset in November 2026 when WMR support ceases for Win 10.

Yeah, I got the Crystal Light. It’s not perfect but way more powerful than the G2.
