HDMI 2.2 announced... what does it mean for VR?

Hey everyone, just saw that HDMI 2.2 has been announced with a whopping 96Gbps of bandwidth, which is actually more than DP2.1. I’m curious about what this means for the future of VR headsets, especially since they’re saying it could be good for them in a couple of years. Is anyone else excited about this news?

Totally excited about this. More bandwidth means better graphics and smoother experiences for VR. Can’t wait to see how it’s implemented.

I’m a bit skeptical. Just because they have higher bandwidth doesn’t mean it will be utilized effectively. We need the hardware to catch up too.

This is great news for anyone into VR. Higher bandwidth might also improve multi-user experiences, which could be awesome.

IDK, I’m just hoping it doesn’t lead to higher prices for the next headsets. That seems to happen with new tech announcements.

Honestly, I just want to see how game developers utilize this new tech. The potential is huge, but execution is key.
