I’m looking for standalone AR glasses that have their own displays. I want something that can give me directions, translate, and have AI built in—essentially a smartphone for my face. I prefer a wireless design that’s easy to charge and use. Most options I see, like those on Amazon, just mirror a phone display, which isn’t what I’m after. I found the Lenovo ThinkReality A3 but haven’t seen much on its standalone capabilities. I’m also looking at the Even Realities G1, but those are a bit pricey. Any recommendations for AR/smart glasses that fit this bill?
It’s tough! Most people prefer linking to their phones because building a full smartphone into glasses is still a challenge. The tech needs to shrink down significantly.
Have you checked out the Rayneo X2? If you can find one, it might fit what you’re looking for.
I feel you! I haven’t found any standalone AR glasses that can do everything my phone does. The INMO Air 2 is the closest I’ve seen.
I think it’s a matter of time before we see more robust options. The tech is evolving, but for now, most devices still rely on phone connectivity to keep costs down.
The market is definitely lacking in true standalone AR glasses. Hopefully, as technology advances, we’ll see more options that meet your needs.
