Currently, I’m trying to watch movies in virtual reality using a Quest 3, but the quality isn’t that amazing. Looking for reasonably priced glasses that are suitable for watching movies only—no gaming or other activities will be done with them. Are there any decent ones that won’t blow the money and can provide me with a wonderful big HD screen? If the sound quality isn’t the finest, I can always wear a headset over the pair to help with clarity of picture.
Hey…For cheap glasses just for watching movies, consider basic, non-prescription options from brands like Warby Parker or Zenni Optical. They offer affordable, stylish glasses designed for screen viewing and eye comfort.
you do realize that they are asking for reasonably priced glasses that are suitable for watching movies in VR?
You really are the troubler. Anyways, I am also on the hunt, I need a switch from my TCL RayNeo X2 AR media glasses to VR. Any recommendations will be highly appreciated.
I have been intrigued by Xreal Air. Initially, I thought it was a dubious product, but positive reviews about its basic features caught my attention. The glasses and optics seem good, though the software may be lacking. I haven’t found reliable info on its field of view, but it should be wider than the 23.5° of the HoloLens mk I. The manufacturer claims a 46° field of view, but that should be taken with caution.
Xreal Air requires an external device as it lacks a CPU and battery, but it works with both Android and iOS.
I am considering buying a pair to use as a screen replacement for my laptop while traveling, including 3-DOF head tracking. I’m just waiting for some free time to develop the driver, which will involve reverse-engineering since I am on Linux.
