I’ve heard that using one of these can keep the Quest 3 battery from draining and even charge it while playing. Is this true?
I can’t say for sure about the Quest 3, but it works for the XR Elite. It really depends on the charger you use, if it’s not pushing 30W+ with Power Delivery, the battery will still drain.

It depends on the cable and charger. I use a 65W power bank with a 100W cable, and it keeps my Quest 3 charged while playing

You get what you pay for with these cables. I’ve gone through a few, and they tend to wear out quickly and don’t charge as fast as you’d like.

It’s a beast cable if you have a good external power brick. I can use it for about 5 hours and only lose around 30% battery on my Quest 3.
There’s a specific connection order for it to work right. The Quest now notifies you if it’s not charging at full power. If that happens, I just reconnect at the junction box in the cord, and it works as expected.
Got mine 2 days ago after a recommendation from this sub. With the Quest 3 charger, it only dropped about 5% in 2 hours. I’ve heard using a higher wattage charger can charge it while playing.
I just use a regular cable, and my Quest 3 doesn’t drain.
I have the same cable and use it with the retail charger that came with my Q3. It drains extremely slowly but doesn’t keep it fully charged. Still, it’s the best one I’ve used.
