Are there any sports that have incorporated VR?

It seems like such an awesome use of VR. They should be using it in aerobatics, drone racing, motor racing, ball sports, etc.

This reminds me of the downfall of 3D TV. What a shame we couldn’t have that dream. For sports, xtadiumvr exists but I believe it’s Quest only. It looks like a mix of stationary court-side seating kind of thing. A huge obstacle with player-mounted cameras is the mismatch between actual and perceived movement and rotation. It’s a recipe for major discomfort. There are tons of ‘VR’ drone videos and the type of thing on YouTube; just be careful with how you view them. If you ever feel motion sickness in VR, it’s best to stop immediately.

On PCVR, you have some car racing titles like Assetto Corsa, iRacing, F1 24, Automobilista 2, and Dirt Rally 2. You can do aerobatics in these flight simulators, however, it’s not gamified for aerobatics (you don’t get points, it’s not a competition) like Microsoft Flight Simulator, D.C.S, or Project Wingman. For sports, there aren’t too many titles yet; there are a couple of golf games, Eleven Table Tennis, and a few boxing games (Thrill of the Fight is really good). If you count freerunning as a sport, there’s Stride; there are some kayaking titles but I don’t think you race anyone.

No I mean like real life sports. You should be able to VR into some guy doing his wingsuit shenanigans.

A little, but not really at scale. NextVR was a company doing just that; Apple bought them some years ago, but so far I don’t think they actually released much. Meta has UFC Fight Pass, but outside of that announcement I haven’t really heard anything about that. There is a bit of NBA too; some of that seems to be geo-blocked outside the USA.
