I’ve been publishing AR experiences on the web for a while now and it’s always worked great on iPhone. But with Android, it always loads into this white-background model viewer first. It’s kinda annoying because then I have to tell users to click the ‘View in my space’ button. Google’s docs say that using ‘mode=ar_preferred’ should fix it and load directly into AR, but I’ve tried everything and can’t get it to work. Has anyone successfully done this? Any tips would be awesome…
I had the same problem! It was so frustrating. I think I got it to work once by tweaking the parameters. Did you make sure to include the correct URL format?
What do you mean by ‘tweaking the parameters’? IDK what that means…
Oh, just playing around with the way I set the intent URL. Sometimes the order matters, you know?
I think it might be a compatibility issue with certain Android devices. Have you tested on different models?
No, I haven’t tried that yet. Maybe I should check it on a few different phones?
I faced this too! Sometimes, just restarting the app helps clear out weird bugs.
Good idea! I’ll give that a shot next time I’m testing.
Did you check if your Google Play Services are up to date? That could be a factor…
Yeah, they should be updated, but I’ll double-check just in case.
Also, make sure your model files are optimized. Sometimes heavy models can cause these issues.
What do you mean by ‘optimized’? Like size or format?
Exactly! Keeping the file size down helps a lot. Try to stick to the recommended limits.
